Executive Chef
We are currently seeking a highly motivated professional to join our team. This opportunity is the perfect fit for an experienced chef looking to make an immediate impact on day-to-day operations and the ultimate success of the property.
The Executive Chef will manage the day-to-day culinary operations of the kitchen, which serves all food and beverage outlets of the Ambassador Hotel. Included in these outlets are Envoy Restaurant & Lounge, Caffe Deco and the hotel’s banquet / meeting space. This person will directly influence the development and execution of the menus. He / She must be a “hands on” operator and will understand the importance of maintaining consistency while paying close attention to detail. This chef will have a passion for culinary creativity, a drive for excellence and will have a strong understanding of what it takes to maintain profitability. The individual will be a strong culinarian with proven supervisory and management skills. He or she must be able to work both independently and as a team member. This person must be an effective leader and must work well under pressure. Flexibility and self-motivation are key components to this position’s success.
Skills and Knowledge Required:
· Extensive knowledge of food handling and sanitation standards
· Knowledge of menu composition
· Understanding of use and maintenance of kitchen equipment

· Financial management skills (ability to manage P&L statements, develop
operating budgets,
forecasting and capitol expenditure planning)
· Ability to acquire and maintain relationships (with associates, guests, clients
and vendors)
· Knowledge of overall hotel operations as they affect kitchen related areas (i.e.
room service, meetings / banquets, etc.)
· Good negotiation skills
· Ability to effectively manage labor productivity and cost

· Ability to use standard software applications and hotel systems

Experience / Education
o A minimum of 5 years full service, high quality restaurant experience is required.
o Management Experience is required
o Knowledge of hotel operations, as they pertain to the kitchen, is required
o Culinary degree or equivalent is a plus
